The Chalea badge by [info]sophiecabra arrived in the mail yesterday! It looks AMAZING. Chalea is gonna love it. I bought a collar for her, it's a sort of purplish/red-wine color with pretty green leaves on it. I clipped the badge to the D-ring, popped it in a nice little bag along with some chocolates, and tied it all up. Chalea should be here in around 20-ish minutes and she'll get to open it. I was going to make a CATS-style yarn tail of her fursona also, but she'll have to get that later on -- I spent last night working on my german Rumpelteazer tail when I should have been tying that one.
I took some pictures of the badge, one of it on the collar and the other a close up. I'll post them soon, but they don't do the art justice. My camera is not good for photographing badges.  

Well, thank you Spain, because I'm sure your art is going to make someone VERY happy =) Mine made me happy. Now we can go around wearing your art, muahaha.

My dad wants me to take commissions.

He wants to buy me a set of Copic markers. He wants me to make a new website, a FurAffinity account, a DA account. He says he'd laminate badges for me. 

Blargh. I'd do it but no one would buy. My parents said I'd make alot of money. I just don't think anyone would be interested.

Little update [Dec. 10th, 2007|03:18 pm]

Since my last post was useless, here's some very, very random little updates....

- My badge arrived in the mail today
- I finally decided what to get Zoe for Christmas
- I'm going to save up for a Zest head by FurrHappens
- I actually did some real media art


Also, I'm considering making my LJ friends only. Glad to hear any thoughts on that.

Bonjour à tous. C'est Zest. J'ai traduit ce poteau à Babelfish employant français parce que j'ai voulu à. Haha. Bien, je suis vivant. J'ai obtenu la grippe d'estomac et ne l'ai pas signalé pour pendant quelque temps. Mais je suis vivant. J'avais travaillé à mon site Web Felinity Éhonté et avais dessiné avec le comprimé. Oui, ce serait à son sujet.

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In May I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). Last Saturday I put gum in [info]mrs_hedlund's hair (-12 points). Last Thursday I bought porn for [info]amranx (-10 points). In March I ruled Asscrackistan as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). In February I bought porn for [info]calypte (10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (689 points). For Christmas I deserve a new bike!

Fursuit Achievement Award -- has it been done? [Dec. 1st, 2007|11:16 am]

Okay, guys, I really need feedback on this.

Today I was working on my new fursuit, and thinking of how I've improved since my first one, even since my last one. Later I browsed the archives of the LJs of some major fursuit builders and preformers, to see how they've changed and improved over the years. Then I had an idea.

What if I were to create an award for fursuiters? An achievement award. It could be a simple graphic one could put on their website, LJ, Myspace, etc. along with some sort of "speech" about why they were chosen for the award.
Perhaps a new LJ community could be created for this, and people could nominate fursuit builders or performers who have achieved alot in the fandom - even if they've only been in it for a few months.

I have no idea if it's been done. If it hasn't, I'd really like to start something like this with a little help from anyone. I'd really like fursuiters to be recognized for all they've achieved, how they started out...not just their popularity. 

So, feedback, please! Even if I don't know you and you got here from a friends page or something, please comment with ideas, information, etc. I have a feeling something along the lines of this has been done. But if not, it should be. 

So. What do you think?

I bought some fur for Zest this week. The FedEx man just dropped off the lime green from Distinctive Fabric, and earlier the UPS man dropped of the dark green from SY Fabrics.

Overall, I prefer Distinctive Fabrics. The fur from SY Fabrics was pictured on the site as being grass green, but when I got it, it was an olive/sage type green. Also, it smelled horrible and wasn't folded, just wrapped up somewhat carelessly and put in a black bag. I'm still using it, though.
The Distinctive Fabric fur was the exact color shown, smelled fine and felt heavenly. It was neatly folded and put in a clear bag. I plan on buying from them again.

Well, the head's started. In a bit I'll work some more.

My good friend Madison who is currently on vacation in California just sent out this fake news article she wrote...haha, really made me laugh, even though I don't know who any of the "missing people" are aside from myself.

Mass disappearance...is it conspiracy?
At an undetermined time earlier this week, a group of 6 mysteriously vanished without a trace. This group consisted of Bailey Coates, Megan Blood, Taylor Clark, Emily Simonson, Linda Johnson(a.k.a. Grama Linda), and Julia Wylie. A group of the best detectives available was assigned early Tuesday to investigate. So far they have not found a cause. However, they found a strange correlation between all of the missing: all had e-mail contact with Madison Johnson, and contact ceased after the vanishing. This reporter interviewed Johnson to see what she knew.
"I just hope that nothing bad happened. If you're out there, come home! The world is on the verge of collapse! PLEASE!," cried a tearful Johnson upon questioning. This situation will continue to be looked into. If you have any information about the content of this article, e-mail (removing her address for personal reasons). Your reward will be reuniting Johnson and her missing friends and grandparents. (generous reward, don't cha think? )

Hehe, fun fun. I  like how the nose sketch came out. It was practice for a project I've wanted to do literally before I knew what furry  was. Ignore the sketch on the right, it be full of ugly. The odd wolf one, not the lower jaw and nose, hehe.
